AGENDA TITLE: Adopt resolution approving salary adjustmentto Manager, Customer Service and
Programs position in the Electric Utility Department

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the amended salary range.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: A Manager, Customer Service & Programs classification was
recently established and the job specification and salary range were approved at the January 5, 2005
Council Meeting. With the establishment of this new position, the contract position performing these
same duties was to be eliminated and the salary range of the contract position was to be rolled over to
the new position.
When the council communication regarding this position was produced by staff in December, the salary
range was set to the contract rates in effect at that time. Subsequently, the Electric Utility Department
submitted salary increases for contract personnel per their agreements, which affected the salary range
of the Manager, Customer Service and Programs position in his contract status. As a result, the contract
position received the cost of living increase but the newly approved classification that replaced it did not.
This action is intended to serve to "clean up" the problem caused by the retroactive application of the
agreed to cost of living increase. If approved, this range would go into effect February 14, 2005.

A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
APPROVING AMENDED SALARY RANGE FOR THE
POSITION OF MANAGER, CUSTOMER SERVICE AND
PROGRAMS, IN THE ELECTRIC UTILITY DEPARTMENT
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby
approve the amended salary range for the position of Manager, Customer Service and
Programs, in the Electric Utility Department to include the 2.345% Cost of Living
Adjustment, as shown as follows:
