AGENDA TITLE: Presentation regarding the March 21" Lodi Energy Smart Workshop (EUD)

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This is the second in a series of free community events coordinated
by the City of Lodi Electric Utility designed to educate the general
public regarding energy-related issues. The second Lodi Energy
Smart Workshop will be held at Hutchins Street Square on March 21, 2005, from 6:30pm until 7:30pm.
The workshop will focus on California's overall energy future, and will offer insights into the development
of sustainable energy resources.
At the utility's first Energy Smart Workshop, held IastAugust, over 150 citizens were in attendance. The
first 100 attendee's on March 21 will receive a "goody bag" containing several energy efficient products
(compact fluorescent lamps, low -flow showerheads and more), and the first 50 Lodi residentswho attend
the workshop on March 21 will be entered into a drawing for a new, EnergyStar® 15 -inch LCDflat screen
television set.
These workshops are paid for by the City of Lodi Public Benefits Program fund, a state -mandated
program. Future workshops will focus on energy conservation, solar energy, as well as new and
emerging technologies in the energy industry. Residents of Lodi are encouraged to attend these free
workshops as a way of learning more about the goods and services provided by the City of Lodi Electric
Utility, and for increasing their knowledge of issues impacting the energy industry.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no additional fiscal impact associated with this item. All aosts
associated with the Lodi Energy Smart Workshop have been included in
the 2004-2005 Public Benefits Program budget.
