AGENDA TI FI LE: Adopt Resolution Awarding Contract for Fire Station 1 Staff Quarters Carpeting Project
to Grand Floor Design, of Lodi ($8.000)

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt a resolution awarding the contract for the above
project to Grand Floor Design, of Lodi, in the amount of $7,997.
BACK ROS. ND !NFORMATION.- This project consists of carpeting approximately 2,100 square feet of
Fire Station 1, including the main dormitory. recreation room;
Battalion Chief dormitory, and women's dormitory. Scope of work
includes removal and disposal of existing carpet and other incidental
and related worm, ail as shown on the plans and specifications for the above project.
Plans and specifications for this project were approved on March 19, 2003, and $10,000 was appropriated at
that time. The City received the following two bids for this project:

The difference between the contract amount and the appropriation request is for the cost of professional
moving serviclos and contingencies.

RESOLUTION NO. 2003-104
WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this
City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened on June 4, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. for Fire
Station #1 Staff Quarters Carpeting Project, described in the specifications therefore approved by
the City Council on March 19, 2003; and
WHEREAS. said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof
filed with the City Manager as follows:

WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends award of the bid for Fire Station #1 Staff
Quarters Carpeting Project be made to the low bidder, Grand Floor Design, of Lodi, California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby award the
bid for Fire Station #1 Staff Quarters Carpeting Project, to the low bidder, Grand Floor Design, of
Lodi, California, in the amount of $7,997.00.
