HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - June 18, 2003 D-03aCiTyoFLODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE Presentation by the Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission Regarding Honoring Teens Program MEETING DATE 'Wednesday, June 18,2003 PREPARED BY Charlene J Lange, Community Center Director RECOMMENDED ACTION Presentation BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission, in conjunction with the Lodi Sunrise Rotary Club, Valley -Lodi MRI, and Central Valley Waste Services is sponsoring a program entitled "Honoring Teens". The Lodi Youth Commission Leadership Committee selects one teen to be awarded'Teen Of The Month" from the applications submitted to ?hecommission from the general public, various schools, and church groups. She will be attending Delta College in the fall. Miss Fulton was a tutor to English Learning Students in the subject of Earth Science. She was nominatedby Lodi High School Teacher Michael Nakgawa who wrote that Miss Fulton is "Compassionate, dedicated, nurturing, polite, and well liked by all of (his) students." Miss Fulton is an avid soccer player and currently plays semi-professional for "Quest" and also fol a club team called "San Juan". She hopes to attend Sonoma State on a soccer scholarship. Mss Fulton was born in Korea and has lived in Lodi since she was 6 months old.
