HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - May 21, 2003 E-15CITY OF LODI RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve placement of a memorial plaque at Vinewood Park for Christine R. Scott. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Parks and Recreation Department has been approached by Ron and Susan Williamson on behalf of friends of Stephen and Nancy Scott to install a memorial plaque at Vinewood Park in the name of Mr. Scott's mother, Christine R. Scott. This issue was presented to the Parks and Recreation Commission at their May 6, 2003, meeting and Council approval is now needed to proceed per the policy. Should Council approve placement of a memorial plaque, staff recommends thatpurchase of the plaque be coordinated with the Parks Department to insure the plaque meets specifications consistent with other plaques.plar,ed in City parks. The plaque will be placed next to two pine trees which have already been placed. Scott's mother, Christine R. Scott at Vinewood Park. MrScott, the Department and I have located an agreeable spot for said trees and plaque to beplanted and installed. We have delivered, the two trees to you and are now seeking your approval of the project. The wording on the plaque shall read as follows on the attached sheet.
