TITLE: Approve specifications and authorize advertisement for bids for
past -top globe -style luminaires and concrete streetlight standards for
Fiscal Year 2003-2004 ( UD)

RECOMMENDED ACTION., That the City Council approve the specifications and authorize
advertisement for bids for Fiscal Year 2043-2004 estimated
requirements for post -top glebe luminaires and Lodi Replica concrete
streetlight standards.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION'. : These two iters are pro1ected for use in Phase 4 of the streetlight
Completion Project, and for replacement of damaged luminaires and
standards elsewhere in the city.
Estimated 2403-04 requirements are:
225 east -top lurnihair s (.120 for Phase 4, balance for replacements during the year)
150 Concrete Lodi replica Standards (120 for Phase 4, balance for replacements)
The post4op luminaires, Flolpp ane's PrismasphereO globe style, consist of an 18 -inch prismatic globe, a
reign pressure sodium ballast., anis a mounting g base,
The concrete standards are currently manufactured by Traditional Concrete in Wisconsin. Presently, staff is
orking with another manufacturer to produce concrete poles on the west east. In the event tooling can be
developed, and manufacturing can begin within the timeframe of the streetlight Completion Project schedule,
competitive bids will be obtained. Otherwise, pricing will be negotiated with Traditional Concrete, and a
purchase recommendation viii be submitted to Council for review.
Some of the areas planned for installation or upgrade of streetlights during Phase 4 of the Streetlight
Completion Project are on Central Avenue between Lockeford Street and Lodi Avenue, on Washington street
between Lockeford street and Tokay, and on Garfield street between Lockeford and Eden.
