COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the addition of a 1986 Dodge 350 pick up
truck to the Parks and Recreation Department Fleet.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Currently, the Parks and Recreation Department has a 1986 Dodge
350 (1 Ton) pick up truck as part of its fleet. This vehicles been
in service for 17 years and it has 108,944 miles.
This vehicle was used as a daily tow vehicle for a 7,000 lb. mower. It has been replaced by another
vehicle and rather than surplusing the Dodge 350 pick up truck we believe it will fill the need as a
maintenance truck for Parks Maintenance. Our maintenance crew will use the Dodge 350 pick up truck to
perform maintenance duties at sites throughout the City. Our maintenance crew currently uses a dump
truck of a flat bed which is not well suited for these tasks,

policy requires that Council approve this action.
