AGENDA TITLE: Adopt Resolution Awarding Contract for Fire Station 3 Air Conditioning
Replacement, 2141 South Ham Lane, to All Bay Mechanical of Santa Clara
($19,140.); and Appropriate Funds

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt a resolution awarding the contract for the
above project to All Bay Mechanical, of Santa Clara, in the amount of
$19,140.78; and appropriate funds in accordance with the
recommendation shown below.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Fire Station 3 was constructed in 1967. The two Lennox Roof Top
Package units are original equipment. These units have exceeded
their service life by an estimated 11 years. Declining cooling
capacity, poor efficiency, and increased service calls indicate the
need for replacement, This project would replace these units, as well as install one heat pump unit to
provide summer cooling for the workout area in the apparatus bay.
Plans and specifications for this project were approved on March 19, 2003, The City received only one
bid for this protect:

RESOLUTION NO, 2003-60
WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this.
City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened on April 2, 2003, at 11,00 a,m, for the
contract for Fire Station #3 Air Conditioning Replacement, 2141 South Ham Lane, described in the
specifications approved by the City Council on March 19, 2003; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof
filed with the City Manager as follows.

WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends award of the bid for Fire Station #3 Air
Conditioning Replacement, 2141 South Ham Lane, to the sole bidder, All Bay Mechanical, of Santa
C-11ara, California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that the award of the bid
for Fire Station #3 Air Conditioning Replacement, 2141 South Ham Lane, be and the same is
hereby awarded to All Bay Mechanical, of Santa Clara, California, the sole bidder, in the amount of
$19,140.78; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds be appropriated as follows for this project:
