Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt a resolution awarding the contract for the above project to All Bay Mechanical, of Santa Clara, in the amount of $19,140.78; and appropriate funds in accordance with the recommendation shown below. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Fire Station 3 was constructed in 1967. The two Lennox Roof Top Package units are original equipment. These units have exceeded their service life by an estimated 11 years. Declining cooling capacity, poor efficiency, and increased service calls indicate the need for replacement, This project would replace these units, as well as install one heat pump unit to provide summer cooling for the workout area in the apparatus bay. Plans and specifications for this project were approved on March 19, 2003, The City received only one bid for this protect: Bidder Engineer's Estimate All Bay Mechanical 31TIMM Santa Clara Bid S 39,000,00 $ 19,140.78 The City has verified that, although the bid amount is much less than the estimate, the bidder does meet the plans/specifications completely. City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened on April 2, 2003, at 11,00 a,m, for the contract for Fire Station #3 Air Conditioning Replacement, 2141 South Ham Lane, described in the specifications approved by the City Council on March 19, 2003; and WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows.
