RECOMMENDED ACTICIN; That the City Council adopt a resolution approving the specifications for the
above project, authorizing advertisement for bids, and authorizing the City
Manager to award the contract.
BACKGROUND INFORMATIONThe project includes providing preventive maintenance and repair
services for the City's existing forty-one traffic signal and lighting

maintenance inspections and perform repairs at 60 -day intervals and
annually test the traffic monitors.
Currently, City electricians, funded by Public Works Department, maintain the signal systems. however,

continue to provide the signal maintenance for emergency services, call -out services and signal work orders.
The specifications are on file in the Public Works Department.
Staff's request is for Council to authorize the City Manager to award the project up to $33,700_ used on
actual bids; it additional funds are needed, this item will be brought back to Council for approval to award and
appropriate additional funds.
