AGENDA TITLE: Discussion of Council Appointee compensation and benefits — City Manager, City
Attorney, and City Clerk (Government Code §54957)

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council consider compensation and benefits for Council
Appointees.
BACKGROUND Ind FORMATIOW The Council has undertaken its evaluation of Council Appointees.
This agenda item has been established in order to provide the
Council an opportunity to consider the compensation and benefits
which are provided to those amployees. You have been provided with a survey prepared by Personnel
Concepts, Inc. through the Human Resources Department indicating the compensation levels for the
positions of City Manager, City Attorney, and City Clerk in those communities which the City uses for
comparability purposes.
Any adjustment to the compensation or benefits provided to Council Appointees should be acted upon by
motion of the Council. Any motions made would be memorialized in resolution form,
FUNDING. To be determined.

RESOLUTION NO. 2003-68
BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lodi does hereby approve
a salary increase of two percent (2%) for Council Appointees, ie. the City Manager, City
Attorney, and City Clerk, effective the next full pay period (beginning April 28, 2003);
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council shall review the Council
Appointee salaries again in six (6) months, and if additional salary increases are
authorized at that time that they are retroactive to the effective date of this action.
