Home My WebLink AboutAgenda Report - March 19, 2003 E-13 PHPSI lkATY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATtON AGENDA TITLE: Set Public Hearing for April 2, 2003, to Consider Resolution Approving the Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Lower Sacramento Road Widening, Harney Lane to Kettleman Lane, Project MEETING DATE-, March 19, 2003 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council set a Public Hearing for April 2, 2003, to consider a resolution approving the Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Lower Sacramento Road Widening, Harney Lane to Kettleman Lane, project, BACKGROUND INFORMATIONI This joint project of the City of Lodi and San Joaquin County began in February 2001 with the award of a design contract to Mark Thomas & Company, Inc. Included in that contract was the preparation of an Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration for the project. The project consists of roadway improvements to approximately one mile of Lower Sacramento Road, from Harney Lane to Kettleman Lane, including the intersection of Century Boulevard and Lower Sacramento Road. This section of Lower Sacramento Road will be widened from a two-lane rural road to a four -lane arlerial with a raised landscaped median. The project includes a new storm drain systern that conforms to the City Storm Drainage Master Plan, A 45 -day public review and comment period has concluded. A single comment letter was received from Caltrans addressing conventional issues associated with a City project occurring near a State highway facility. The Public Hearing will provide additional opportunity for the public to comment on the project. Written notice of the public hearing will be sent to all property owners and business interests within 300 feet of the project once the hearing data has been set by the City Council. A copy of the Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration is on file and available for review at the Public Works Department. FUNDING: Not Applicable Richard C.
