RECOMMENDED ACTION., That Council, by motion action, direct the City Clerk to post for the following
vacancy an the Lodi Arts Commission.
BACKGROUND INFORMATLodi Arts Commissioner Jim Harvey recently passed away, thereby
creating a vacancy on the Arts Commission. it is, therefore,
recommended that the City Council direct the City Clerk to post for
the vacancy shown below,

Term to expire July 1, 2005
State statute requires that the City Clerk post for vacancies to allow citizens interested in serving to
submit an application. The City Council is requested to direct the City Clerk to make the necessary
postings.

ANNOUNCEMENT
One (1) Vacancy
on the Lodi Arts Commissiol
The City of Lodi is currently accepting applications for
the Lodi its Commission, developed to inspire,
encourage and promote the arts in the community,
The Lodi Arts Commission meets at 12-.00 noon on
the 2"d Wednesday of each month at the Cottage Room
at Hutchins Street Square, and consists of 11 members,
each serving 3 -year terms.
Applications are now being accepted to fill one (1)
vacancy, with the term due to expire July 1, 2005,
Applications may be obtained from the City Clerk's
office at 221 W. Pine St., 2`1 floor. For more
information call 333-6702, or access the City's Web
site at www.lodi.gov
Appointments to the commission will be made by the
Mayor with Council approval,

On behalf of the City of Lodi we wish to extend ou.r condolences to you and your
family on your recent loss, On March 5, 2003; Mayor Hitchcock. adjourned the
City Council meeting in memory of James Harvey. She noted his service to the
Lodi Community Church of God and the Lodi Arts Commission.
The adjournment statement will be recorded in the official minutes, which are
permanent records of the City of Lodi. We hope that in some small way this
recognition provides a degree of solace to you.
