Bicycle and Pedestrian Office of Traffic Safety Grant Program "KID PATROL"

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Presentation to the City Council to officially kick-off the City of Lodi's
Bicycle and Pedestrian Office of Traffic Safety Grant Program
"KID PATROL".
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City of Lodi received grant money from the Office of Traffic
Safety to educate students and their parents about bicycle and
pedestrian safety. The bicycle and safety program is entering into
its public outreach phase, starting with this kick-off event.
The bicycle and pedestrian safety project was named "Kid Patrol" to encourage kids to monitor their
activities, as well as the activities of their friends and family. Officers from the Lodi Police Department will
be making presentations to the elementary and junior high schools in Lodi regarding bicycle and
pedestrian safety. In addition, bike rodeos and informational materials will be utilized at public outreach
sessions to encourage bicycle and pedestrian safety.
