RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the plans and specifications and authorize
advertisement for bids for Armory Park Ball Diamond Renovation, 333

BACKGROUND INFORMATIM This project was previously approved as part of the Parks and
Recreation Departments 2003/2004 Capital Improvement Projects in
an effort to provide actuality playing surfaces for our recreation
programs, The Parks Division has set a goal to renovate at least
one ball diamond per year.
The scope of work oonsists of removing the existing outfield turf, installing clean sandy loam soil,. soil
preparation and grading. Work also includes providing and installing new sprinkler rinkler heads and new four
foot wide sod rolls,
FUNDING: Engineer's Estimate; $72,700.00
2003/2004 Capital Improvement Funds: $60,000-00
"Balance for project funds will come from unused funds from the English Oaks Shade Structure project
and software upgrade 'for the Recreation Division. The projects noted above are: current 20.03/2004
Capital Projects for the Parks and Recreation Department.
