AGENDA TITLE: Presentation Regarding the 2003 Salvation Army Red Kettle
Campaign
MEETING DATE: November 5, 2003

RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council participates in and encourages staff
participation in the 2003 Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign.
BACKGROUND: The Red Kettle Bell Ringing campaign has been a tradition of the Salvation Army for
over 100 years in America and here in Lodi since 1987. Funds generated are used to
support the Salvation Army in providing many services to the homeless and low
income men, women & children in the area including: daily hot meals, shelter, clothing, medical services,
utility vouchers, rehabilitative support programs and much more!
It's fun, simple and extremely rewarding, as it provides a festive and cheerful way to help others in our
community.
1. Choose the day, days or a week that fits your schedule
2. Choose the time that's convenient, (2) hour increments are the minimum, up to all day for 8 to10
hours.
