AGENDA TITLE: Adapt Resolution Amending Traffic Resolution 97-148 by Approving 2 -Hour Parking
Restriction on the North Side of Pine Street from Stockton Street to 97 Feet East of
Stockton Street and on the South side of Pine Street from Stockton Street to 117 Feet
East of Stockton Street.
MEETING DATE: September 3, 2003
PREPARED Y: Public Works Director
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt a resolution amending Section 3B of Traffic
Resolution 97-148 by approving the extension of the 2 -hour parking limit on
the north side of Pine Street from Stockton Street to 97 feet east of
Stockton Street and on the South side of Fine Street from Stockton Street to
917 feet east of Stockton Street, as shown on Exhibit A.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Staff has received a request from the owner of the properties located on
Fine Street just east of Stockton Street to extend the 2 -hour parking
limit in front of his businesses. The business on the north side. of
Fine Street is a market, and an auto repair and tire store exists on the
south side.
In addition to these two businesses, land use on Pine Street between Stockton Street and Washington Street
consists of a mixture of commercial and residential uses. In order to determine if others in this block were
interested in the time -limit parking or objected to the proposal to extend the 2 -hour parking limit east Of
Stockton Street, staff sent letters to all the property owners and tenants. No responses were received. The
Police Department will provide enforcement by extending the existing Downtown enforcement routes.
Since we received no objections from property owners or tenants, staff recommends that City Council
approve the extension of the 2 -hour parking limit on Pine Street, as shown on Exhibit A.
FUNDING-, Approximately $750 to install four time -limit parking signs from the Street Maintenance
Account.
