AGENDA TITLE: Adopt Resolution Awarding Contract for Fire Station 1 H10AC Design/Build Project,
210 West Elm Street, to Air Systems of Sacramento ($100,830); and Appropriate Funds

RECOMMENCED ACTION: That the City Council adapt a resolution awarding the contract for the: above
project to Air Systems, of Sacramento, in the amount of $100,825 and
appropriate funds in accordance with the recommendation shown be. taw.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project consists of the design and building (design, supply, and
installation) an interim HVAC system for the Fire Station 1 living
quarters. The living quarters consist of the following second flour
spaces: dormitory, recreation room, kitchen, battalion chief and:
women's dormitories and hallway (5 zones proposed). Project bids reflect the installation and materials in the
engineer's estimate and the bidder's design costs. Alternate #1 is to remove existing ductwork, if necessary,
for new system installation. An 8% contingency is requested for unanticipated structural work.
Plans and specifications for this project were approved on March 19, 2003. The City received the following
two bids for this project:

RESOLUTION NO. 2003-125
A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AWARDING
THE BID FOR FIRE STATION #1 HVAC DESIGN/BUILD
PROJECT, 210 WEST ELM STREET, AND FURTHER
APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THIS PROJECT
WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of
this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened on July 2, 2003, at 11:00 a.m.
for Fire Station #1 HVAC Design/Build Project, 210 West Elm Street, described in the
specifications therefore approved by the City Council on March 19, 2003; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report
thereof filed with the City Manager as follows:

WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends award of the bid for Fire Station #1 HVAC
Design/Build Project, 210 West Elm Street, be made to the low bidder, Air Systems, of
Sacramento, California, in the amount of $100,825.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby award
the bid for Fire Station #1 HVAC Design/Build Project, 210 West Elm Street, be made to the
low bidder, Air Systems, of Sacramento, California, in the amount of $100,825.00; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds in the amount of $110,000.00 be appropriated
from the General Capital Outlay Fund for this project.
