AGENDA TITLE: Post for Vacancies on the East Side Improvement Committee and Expiring Terms
on the Library Board of Trustees, Lodi Arts Commission, and Planning
Commission

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That Council, by motion action, direct the City Clerk to post for
vacancies on the East Side Improvement Committee and expiring
terms on the Library Board of Trustees, Lodi Arts Commission, and
Planning Commission.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City Clerk's Office received letters of resignation (filed) from
East Side Improvement Committee members, Mark Gisler and
Ruth Jimenez. Additionally, several terms are due to expire shortly.
It is, therefore, recommended that the City Council direct the City
Clerk to post for the vacancies and expiring terms below.

Two (2) Vacancies
on the Plannina Commission
The City of Lodi is currently accepting applications for
the Planning Commission, charged with reviewing
changes to the City's General Plan & zoning regulations
to ensure development in Lodi is of the highest quality;
and to provide recommendations to Council on such
matters dealing with community development.
The Planning Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on the
2"d & 4th Wednesdays of each month at the Carnegie
Forum, and consists of 7 members. Applications are
now being accepted to fill two (2) vacancies for 4 -year
terms due to expire July 1, 2008.
Applications may be obtained from the City Clerk's
office at 221 W. Pine St., 2"d floor. For more
information call 333-6702, or access the City's Web
site at www.lodi.gov.
Appointments to the commission will be made by the
Mayor with Council approval.

on the Library Board of Trustees
The City of Lodi is currently accepting applications for
the Library Board of Trustees, which manages the
public library; sets policy and budget guidelines; reviews
and acts on proposals; advocates programs, funding,
and support of government officials to recognize and
meet the needs of the community.
The Library Board of Trustees meets at 5:30 p.m. on
the 3d Monday of each month at the Lodi Public Library,
and consists of 5 members.

Currently Seeking Citizen Volunteers
to fill Two (2) Vacancies on the
East Side Improvement Committee (ESIC)
The City of Lodi is now accepting applications to serve on the
ESIC, which was created for the purpose of maintaining and
improving the quality and appearance of Lodi's east side.
Meetings are held at 5:00 p.m. on the 1" Tuesday of each
month at 100 E. Pine Street. There are 9 ESIC members,
each serving 3 -year terms. Current vacancies are as follows:
One vacancy for a 1 -year term expiring March 1, 2005
One vacancy for a 2 -year term expiring March 1, 2006.
Applications are available in the City Clerk's office, 221 West
Pine Street, 2"d floor, or call 333-6702, or visit the City's Web
