BACKGROUND INFORMATION: As indicated below, the City Clerk's office was directed to post for the vacancies and expiring terms on the East Side Improvement Committee. It is recommended that the City Council concur with the following appointments. STEPHEN SCHWABAUER Interim City Attorney Allan Levy RE: Non -Qualifying Application for Board/Commission/Committee/Task Force East Side Improvement Committee The Lodi City Clerk's office recently received your application of interest in being considered for re -appointment to the East Side Improvement Committee. Your submission has been determined as a non -qualifying application because it does not meet the criteria outlined by the Lodi City Council for San Joaquin County (or City of Lodi) voter registration requirements as follows: a) Per Resolution 2003-156, In order to be considered for appointment, a person must be a registered voter of San Joaquin County at the time of application. Exception - SPARC: A person must be a registered voter of the City of Lodi at the time of application. b) Per Ordinance 1736, in order to be considered for appointment to the Planning Commission, a person must be a registered voter of the City of Lodi at the time of application. In ending your service with the Commission, it will be necessary for you to complete a Form 700 - Conflict of Interest Leaving Office Statement no later than 30 days from the date of this letter of notice (due Monday, May 24, 2004 by 5:00 p.m.) The original statement will be retained in the City Clerk's office or may be filed with Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC). Many qualified candidates were interviewed, making the selection a`iifficult one. Ultimately, Mayor Hansen recommended that other candidates be appointed, and at the regular City Council meeting of April 21, 2004, the City Council concurred with the Mayor's recommendations. Your application will remain on file for review and consideration of future vacancies for one year from the date it was received in the City Clerk's office.
