HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - April 21, 2004 E-16AGENDA ITEM EO* CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION TM AGENDA TITLE: Accept Improvements Under Contract for Alley South of Pine Street Wastewater Main Rehabilitation Project (Church Street to Hutchins Street) MEETING DATE: April 21, 2004 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the improvements under the " Alley South of Pine Street Wastewater Main Rehabilitation Project (Church Street to Hutchins Street)" contract. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The project was awarded to J.F. Pacific Liners, Inc., of Vacaville, on October 15, 2003, in the amount of $96,069.10. The contract has been completed in substantial conformance with the plans and specifications approved by the City Council. The contract completion date was January 6, 2004, and the actual completion date was January 9, 2004. The contractor was assessed three days of liquidated damages at $500 per day. The final contract price was $96,027.09. Minor adjustments in the contract quantities and a contract change order for an additional set-up cost offset the deduction caused by the liquidated damages. Following acceptance by the City Council, the City Engineer will file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder's office.
