Subject: Applications Recently Filed with the Public Utilities Commission by

applications with the California Public Utilities Commission (PUC) requesting
authority to increase its electric and gas rates:
a) Application No. 91-04-003 filed April I, 1991 requesting a $264.8
million increase in electric rates to cover forecasted expenses as
estimated by PG&E. This would approximate a three to four percent
increase. If approved the rate increase would to effective January 1,

This application also includes a request for a $10.2 million increase
of its gas rates.
b) Application No. 91-05-016 filed on May 8, 1990 (please note that in
checking with the PUC and PG&E, this date should be May 8, 1991)

approximately $36,986,000 and gas revenues.by approximately
$10,595,000 to become effective January 1, 1992, a rate increase of
less than 11— PG&E indicates that this change in revenue is needed to

interest rates and changes in economic, regulatory, and business risks
for POE.
