COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
AGENDA TITLE: Purchase of Boom Truck for the Public Works Department
MEETING DATE: May 1, 1991

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution approving
the purchase of a boom truck for the Public Works Department
from Western Traction Company, Union City, California, for the
amount of $81,579.00.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Funds to purchase the boom truck for the Public Works
Department were approved in the 1990-91 budget and
specifications were approved by the City Council on
March 20, 1991. Bids were opened on April 3, 1991 and
three bids were received. The low bidder failed to meet
the specifications.

RESOLUTION NO. 91-80
A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AWARDING THE BID FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE BOOM TRUCK
FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with
law and the order of this City Councili sealed bids were received and
publicly opened on April 3, 1991 at 11:00 a.m. for the bid for the
purchase of one boom truck for the Public Works Department, described
in the specifications therefor approved by the City Council on March
20, 1991; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and
a report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows:

Western Traction Co., Union City $81,579.00
Simon West Coast, Inc., Fontana $108,360.56
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that award of the bid for
one boom truck for the Public Works Oepartment be made to the lowest
qualifying bidder, Western Traction Co.;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that
award of bid for one boom truck for the Public Works Department be and
the same is hereby awarded to Western Traction Co., the lowest
qualifying bidder, in the amount of $81,579.00.

I hereby certify that Resolution No. 91-80 was passed and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Lodi in a regular meeting
held May 1, 1991 by the following vote:
