Home My WebLink AboutAgenda Report - July 7, 1993 (74)oR CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Set Public Hearing for August 4, 1993 to Consider Transportation Permit Fees MEETING DATE: July 7, 1993 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council set a public hearing for August 4, 1993 to consider transportation permit fees in conformance with California Vehicle Code (CYC), Section 35795(b). BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City currently issues transportation permits for extralegal vehicles and/or loads routed over City streets• in conformance with CYC, Section 35782. The permits cover trucks and trailers which exceed legal width, length, height and/or weight as defined in the CVC. These permits are presently issued free of charge. CVC, Section 35795(b) states in part that local authorities may charge a fee for the issuance of transportation permits and that the fee shall not exceed the fee schedule developed by the Department of Transportation for similar permits issued by Caltrans. Section 1411.3(a), Title 21, Chapter 2, Subchapter 7 of the California Administrative Code sets forth the fees which may be charged for issuing transportation permits. Current fees are $16.00 and $90.00 for the issuance of single -trip permits and annual permits, respectively. More information concerning the transportation permit issuance process and the staff time involved will be provided prior to the public hearing. FUNDING: None required. Jack t.
