AGENDA TITLE: Acceptance of Improvements Under Asphalt Pavement Overlays. Tokay Street,
Church Street to Fairmont Avenue, and Houston Lane, Pine Street to Victor Road,
Contract
MEETING DATE: November 17, 1993

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the improvements under the "Asphalt
Pavement Overlays, Tokay Street, Church Street to Fairmont Avenue. and
Houston -Lane, Pine Street to Victor Road" contract, and direct the Public
Works Director to file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorders
Office.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The contract was awarded to George Reed, Inc., of Lodi on
June 2, 1993 in the amount of $135,639.30. The contract has been
completed in substantial conformance with the plans and
specifications approved by the City Council.
The contract completion date was September 24, 1993 and the actual completion date was
September 24, 1993. The final contract price was $189,324.16. The difference between the contract
amount and the final contract price is mainly due to the installation of handicap ramps at all the curb
returns to put them in conformance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
FUNDING: Originally Budgeted: 1992193,
Budgeted Fund: Transportation Development Act (79%)
State Local Transportation Partnership Program (12%)
Water Capital Outlay Fund (9%)
Current Appropriation: $220,000.00
Total Project Estimate: $215,000.00
