V._. Phillip A. Peiuinw ` Mayor MEMORANDUM TO: The Honorable Mayor and `I' Members of the City Council FROM: City Manager DATE: November 17, 1993 SUBJ: Redevelopment Meeting ! ')v,'i+, Following discussions with the Mayor and Vice Mayor, I have tentatively scheduled a joint meeting of the City Council and the Planning Commission for the purpose of reviewing the prospect of the formation of a Redevelopment Agency in the City of Lodi. The date is Tuesday, December 14, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. in either the Forum or the Fine Arts Theater at Hutchins Street Square. I have made arrangements with Bill Carlson, Executive Director of the California Redevelopment Association, to be with us to explain redevelopment; what can and cannot be done under the new law; and rough start-up cost estimates for the establishment of such an agency. The California Redevelopment Association is an organization comprised of all those cities in the State that have redevelopment agencies. Mr. Carlson is also the former city manager of the cities of Marysville and Salinas. I have also contacted Ms. Evie Olson who chairs the City/Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee. The committee will adjourn its regularly scheduled semi-monthly meeting on that date to attend this joint meeting. Assuming this date is satisfactory, the City Clerk will tend to the necessary postings. TAP:br CCCOM868/TXTA.07A
