CITY OF LODI
COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
AGENDA TITLE: Posting for Vacancy on the City of Lodi Deferred Compensation
Committee
MEETING DATE. October 6, 1993
PREPARED BY: City Clerk
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council, by motion action, direct the City
Clerk to post for the vacancy on the City of Lodi
Deferred Compensation Committee.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Deferred Compensation Plan is administered by an
Advisory Committee appointed by the City Council. The
Committee consists of seven members. One member, Elsie
Temp, recently retired and has now resigned from the
Committee.
The Plan is not specific as to who may serve on the Advisory Committee; however,
heretofore, the City Council has appointed only those who are participants in the
Plan. The Deferred Compensation Advisory Committee is hopeful that the Council will
continue that practice.
FUNDING: None required. `

MEMORANDUM FROM THE OFFICE OF THE ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER
To: The Honorable Mayor Phillip A. Pennino
From: Jerry L. Glenn, Assistant City Manager
Date: September 21, 1993
Subject: RESIGNATION FROM THE DEFERRED COMPENSATION COMMITTEE
I have received a letter of resignation from Elsie Temp who has been a
member of the Deferred Compensation Committee since its inception in 1977
(copy attached). .Ms. Temp has recently retired from City service.
It will now be appropriate to post to fill the vacancy on this Committee.
In addition to Mr. MorriLon as a possible replacement as noted on Ms.
Temp's letter, I have also had inquiries from Maxine Cadwallader of the
Finance Department to serve on this Committee. The present makeup of the
Committee is Finance, Management and Mid -management personnel. There is no
representation from the rank and file.
I would recommend this vacancy be posted for filling and a bargaining unit
member be appointed.
Respectfully submitted,
JERRY L. GLENN
Assistant City Manager
