October 6, 1993 PREPARED BY: City Clerk RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council, by motion action, direct the City Clerk to post for the vacancy on the City of Lodi Deferred Compensation Committee. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Deferred Compensation Plan is administered by an Advisory Committee appointed by the City Council. The Committee consists of seven members. One member, Elsie Temp, recently retired and has now resigned from the Committee. The Plan is not specific as to who may serve on the Advisory Committee; however, heretofore, the City Council has appointed only those who are participants in the Plan. The Deferred Compensation Advisory Committee is hopeful that the Council will continue that practice. Glenn, Assistant City Manager Date: September 21, 1993 Subject: RESIGNATION FROM THE DEFERRED COMPENSATION COMMITTEE I have received a letter of resignation from Elsie Temp who has been a member of the Deferred Compensation Committee since its inception in 1977 (copy attached). .Ms. Temp has recently retired from City service. It will now be appropriate to post to fill the vacancy on this Committee. In addition to Mr. MorriLon as a possible replacement as noted on Ms. Temp's letter, I have also had inquiries from Maxine Cadwallader of the Finance Department to serve on this Committee. The present makeup of the Committee is Finance, Management and Mid -management personnel. There is no representation from the rank and file. I would recommend this vacancy be posted for filling and a bargaining unit member be appointed. Respectfully submitted, JERRY L.
