HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - March 20, 1991• or v` CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION S AGENDA TITLE: Entry/Parking Fees at Lodi Lake Park MEETING DATE: March 20, 1991 PREPARED BY: Parks and Recreation Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached Resolution (see EXHIBIT A) amending the entry/parking fee at Lodi Lake Park. Further, it is requested that the Parks and Recreation Department be allowed to retain the fees generated at the Lodi Lake in the Lodi Lake Park Enterprise Fund. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Parking fees were introduced to the Lake some fifteen years ago to assist with traffic flow and cruisers going in and out of the park. A one dollar ($1) fee was introduced at that time. Three years ago we increased this fee to two dollars ($2) on weekends and left the fee at one dollar ($1) on weekdays. We now request to again raise this fee to two dollars ($2) for residents and three dollars ($3) for nonresidents throughout the week. The additional fee over and above the one dollar ($1) currently charged and going to the General Fund we would like to put in the Lodi Lake Park Enterprise Fund to be used only for improvements or projects at the Lake. A simple check of the vehicle driver's license by the gate attendant would determine resident/nonresident status. The Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed and approved the attached fees (see EXHIBIT B) for entry parking fees at Lodi Lake Park. FUNDING: None. Again, this should be a resource and a flow of income and will be seen in revenues in the neighborhood of $30,000 to $35,000; current range from $20,000 to $25,000 per /y//ear/ Ron Williamson, Director Parks and Recreation Department RW/lm attachments PO APPROVE THOMAS A.
