HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - November 20, 2002 E-03tea: CITY OF 1 COUNCILCOMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Accept scoreboard donation from BOBS MEETING DATE: November 20, 2002 PREPARED BY: Parks & Recreation Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the scoreboard donated by the Boosters of Boys/Girls Sports (BOBS). BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On October 10, 2002, the Parks and Recreation Director received a letter from BOBS President, Tony Alegre, donating a Fair -Play Model BA7118-2 Scoreboard (copy attached). The only stipulation to this donation is the scoreboard is to be used at Zupo Field in conjunction with renovations that have recently been completed. The Parks and Recreation Commission at their November 5, 2002, meeting gladly accepted this generous donation from the BOBS. This Scoreboard features L.E.D. components and it is wireless with a battery operated controller. This new board is easier to maintain and will increase the visibility over the old board and be more fan friendly. The approximate cost of this donation is $10,000. We are very proud of the relationship we have with the City Parks and Recreation Department as we both strive to give our youth the best in facilities and programming.
