AGENDA TITLE: Review and designate projects for the San Joaquin Council of
Governments (SJCOG) 2003/4 Regional Priorities list.
MEETING DATE: December 3, 2002

RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council review and designate projects for the
SJCOG 2003/04 Regional Priorities List.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The San Joaquin Council of Governments (SJCOG) is developing a
list (see attachment) of regional projects for Federal advocacy efforts;
primarily for the "One Voice" lobbying effort in Washington, D.C.
As such, SJCOG has requested that the City of Lodi, along with other jurisdictions in San Joaquin
County, submit two top priority projects for SJCOG Board action.
Projects for priority consideration include, among others:
1. White Slough Water Pollution Control Facility Improvements
2. Lodi Avenue Rail Safety Project
3. Aquatics Center
4. Indoor Sports Facility
5. Animal Control Shelter
6. Library Expansion
7. Fire Station #2 Remodel
8. Old Public Safety Building Remodel
9. Highway 12 Improvements for Operations and Safety
Staff will be prepared to discuss the aforementioned projects and will be able to answer questions during
the December 3, 2002 Special Council Meeting.

The San Joaquin Council of Governments has begun the process to request funding for
our 2004 Regional. Priorities list. Please complete the attached forth for your top two
priority projects that you would like placed on this rei;ional list (this form is available
electronically at www.sjcog.org under "One Voice"). SJCOG will develop the list for
consideration and adoption at the December 5, 2002 board meeting.
Please submit the requested items as soon as possible, but no later than November b,
2002. If you have any questions or require assistance, please feel free to contact Andrew
