'May Now Safely Dispose of Household Hazardous Wastes at
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events
San Joaquin County and the incorporated Cities of Lodi. Stockton. Manteca, Lathrop, Ripon. Escalon and Tracy are sponsoring
an ongoing program of oar day collection events to provide household hazardous waste disposal opportunities for all County
residents. Household hazardous wastes are products that contain toxic chemicals and are often labeled with CAUTION. TOXIC,
DANGER. FLAMMABLE or POISON warnings. Paints, automotive products, pesticides and household cleaners are examples
of these products, and they can create bealth and environatentat risks when they are no longer wanted or are unusable.
Household hazardous waste needs to be disposed of safely and legally to protect human health and the environment. Household
hazardous waste that is thrown in the trash can harm sanitation workers and start fires in garbage trucks. If poured down the
sink or storm drain they can end up in our local waterways, polluting the air, water and soil. One of the many proper disposal
methods is to ging those unwanted materials to a household hazardous waste collection day.
