BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City of Lodi is currently offering an energy efficiency rebate
program to residential customers, entitled the Lodi Cooling Cash
Rebate. The program provides rebate dollars to those customers that
install high efficiency (12.0 Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating— SEER - or better) central air conditioning
units in their single-family dwelling. The rebates range from $50/ton for a 12.0 SEER unit, to $225/ton for a
14+ SEER unit.
The Lodi Cooling Cash Rebate Program began on April 1, 2002, and through mid-July 2002, over ninety
(90) residential customers have received rebates for installing and/or upgrading to high efficiency central air
conditioning systems. It is anticipated that the additional $25,000 from the Public Benefits Program will
