AGENDA TITLE: Adopt a resolution awarding the bid for the purchase of portable
stage equipment to SICO America, Inc. ($8,379.18)
MEETING DATE: September 4, 2002

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt a resolution awarding the bid for six
sections of portable stage, with risers, rails and drapes, to the low
bidder, SICO America, Inc. of Minneapolis, in the amount of
$8,379.18.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On August 7, 2002, the City Council authorized advertisement for
bids for the equipment listed above.
The following bids were received, and opened on August 21, 2002:
SICO America, Inc., Minneapolis $ 8,379.18
Rogers School & Business Products, Oceanside $10,890.72
Sierra School Equipment Co., Sacramento $11,153.20
Musson Theatrical, Santa Clara $11,984.28
Increased event activity within the City generated a need for these additional stages. Further, the City
has specified equipment manufactured by SICO America, Inc. for compatibility with existing SICO
stages used by both Parks and Recreation and the Community Center at Hutchins Street Square.
Delivery would be expected in about eight weeks.

RESOLUTION NO. 2002-186
A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AWARDING
THE BID FOR THE PURCHASE OF PORTABLE STAGES FOR
THE PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of
this City Council sealed bids were received and publicly opened on August 21, 2002, at 11:00
a.m. for the purchase of portable stages for the Parks and Recreation Department described in
the specifications therefore approved by the City Council on August 7, 2002; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report
thereof filed with the City Manager as follows:

WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends award of the bid for the purchase of
portable stages for Parks and Recreation Department be made to the low bidder, SICO
America, Inc., of Minneapolis.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that the award of the
bid for the purchase of portable stages for Parks and Recreation Department be made to the
low bidder, SICO America, Inc, of Minneapolis, in the amount of $8,379.18.
