September 18, 2002 Community Center Coordinator Presentation. The Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission, in conjunction with the Lodi Sunrise Rotary Club, Valley -Lodi MRI and Central Valley Waste Services is sponsoring a program entitled Honoring Teens. The Lodi Youth Commission Leadership Committee selects one teen to be awarded Teen of the Month from the applications submitted to the commission from the general public, various schools, and church groups. This month's Teen of the Month is Cristal Wong from Liberty School. FUNDING: APPROVED: None Required. Yv- e Maragliano Community Center Coordinator H. Dion Flynn -- City Manager Bio for City Council September Teen of the Month Cristal was the recently awarded Youth of the Year from Lodi Boys and Girls Club. Cristal is an excellent student at Liberty. She lives in a foster home. She strives for academic excellence and does outstanding deeds for her community. Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission Announcements • The Government Teen Lead Session was held at Carnegie Forum on Monday, September 16th and was coordinated by Mayor Pennino and Youth Commissioner Courtney Cook. The next session will be held in October and the topic is Education. • The Crush High School Dance was held in conjunction with Omega Nu on August 30 — at Hutchins Street Square in Kirst Hall from 8:30pm —12 midnight. There were 1,020 students in attendance. Proceeds go to the Lodi Youth Commission Scholarship program.
