July 17, 2002 Community Center Coordinator Presentation. The Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission, in conjunction with the Lodi Sunrise Rotary Club, Holiday Inn Express and Central Valley Waste Services is sponsoring a program entitled Honoring Teens. The Lodi Youth Commission Leadership Committee selects one teen to be awarded Teen of the Month from the applications submitted to the commission from the general public, various schools, and church groups. This month's Teen of the Month is Adriene Flores from Tokay High School. FUNDING: None Required. Adriene has a tremendous accomplishment. She has perfect attendance in school from grades 1st through 12th all within Lodi Unified School District. Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission Announcements • We have selected 31 students for next years Teen Lead Class. Orientation will be at the Tokay High School Ropes Course on August 19. • Wet n' Wild — August 3 — at Lodi Lake Beach Front from 4 — lOpm. $10 per person at the gate. Includes: Beach Dance at dusk, music by a DJ all day, BBQ provided by the Lodi Noon Lions Club, Soda, swimming, aqua boats, volleyball, Giant Slide, Human Foosball and a Rock Climbing Wall. • The Crush High School Dance in conjunction with Omega Nu — August 30 — at Hutchins Street Square in Kirst Hall from 8:30pm — 12 midnight for $6 per person. Proceeds go to the Lodi Youth Commission Scholarship program. • A new event sponsored by the Lodi Youth Commission is The Grape Jam, which will be held on Sunday, October 20 from 1-5pm at the Lodi Grape and Harvest Fair Grounds. There will be seven live bands and a Karaoke Contest for $10 per person at the gate. Local and Regional bands will be featured. We already have contracts with four bands and are looking for three more.
