Katzakian Park Improvements, 2735 West Turner Road

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the improvements under the "Katzakian Park
Improvements, 2735 West Turner Road" contract.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The project was awarded to Goodland Landscape Construction, Inc.,
of Livermore, on December 6, 2001, in the amount of $553,590.00.
The contract has been completed in substantial conformance with the
plans and specifications approved by the City Council.
In accordance with the Contract Change Order Policy approved by Resolution 85-173, Council is also being
informed of Contract Change Order No 2. The attached Contract Change Order, approved by the City
Manager, was in the amount of $5,798.52 (which is 1.0% of the original contract) and covers the additional
cost to replace the hydroseeding around Well 26 with sod. Council was informed of Contract Change Order
No. 1 on November 21, 2001, and totaled $67,972.16.
The contract completion date was November 22, 2001, and the actual completion date was
November 22, 2001. The final contract price was $629,984.35. The difference between the contract
amount and the final contract price is mainly due to additional water main and electrical work done to
prepare for the construction of Well 26. Additional money was spent in minor revisions to the parking lot
and vine demonstration area.
Following acceptance by the City Council, the City Engineer will file a Notice of Completion with the
County Recorder's office.
