CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
AGENDA TITLE: Post For Vacancies And Expiring Terms On The Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission
MEETING DATE: April 17, 2002

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That Council, by motion action, direct the City Clerk to post for the following
vacancies and expiring terms on the Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Several of the students, whose terms are not due to expire, are
leaving for college and must resign their position on the Greater Lodi
Area Youth Commission. In addition, several terms are due to
expire. Therefore, it is recommended that the City Council direct the
City Clerk to post for the vacancies and expiring terms shown below.
Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission
Michelle Gau Term to expire August 30, 2003
Sweta Patel Term to expire August 30, 2003
Ashkon Shaahinfar Term to expire August 30, 2003
Megan Hawley Term to expire August 30, 2002
Yuba Grant Term to expire August 30, 2002
Courtney Cook Term to expire August 30, 2002
Katie Wagenman Term to expire August 30, 2002
Katherine Whitmire Term to expire August 30, 2002
State statute requires that the City Clerk post for vacancies to allow citizens interested in serving to
submit an application, The City Council is requested to direct the City Clerk to make the necessary
postings.

A review of our records indicates that your term on the Greater Lodi Area Youth
Commission expires on August 30, 2002. City Council, at its regular meeting of
April 17, 2002, directed the City Clerk to post for this expiring term. if you are
interested in seeking reappointment for an additional two-year term, please
complete the enclosed application form, which will act as your request for
reappointment and also serve to update our records. Note: No application
attached as Courtney already picked up an application form this date.
The deadline to file applications to serve on the Greater Lodi Area Youth
Commission is Monday, May 31, 2002 at 500 p.m. in the City Clerk's Office.
If we do not receive your application before this date, we will assume you are not
interested in being considered for reappointment.
