BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City Council has requested staff begin study of a new Animal Services

Miers & Associates was the only response received.
This phase consists of:
1) Developing a space -needs program for holding, public visitation, and adoption of animals.
2) Working with City staff and the Animal Shelter Task Force to determine possible sites for
the new facility.
3) Working with City staff and the Animal Shelter Task Force to develop a schematic design
and cost estimate for a new Animal Services Facility, including a site plan.
The estimated cost for this work is $77,510. The cost will vary somewhat depending on the outcome of the
programming analysis, site selection, and the actual number and detail of the options to be considered and
presented to the City Council for approval. The next phase of the work will include final site selection and
preparation of design/build documents for the new Animal Services Facility.
