2002 to Greenline Landscaping & Maintenance, of Stockton ($103,100)

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt a resolution awarding the contract for the above project
to Greenline Landscaping & Maintenance, of Stockton, in the amount of $103,100.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project provides for the contract maintenance of 64 landscaped areas
within the City and the White Slough Water Pollution Control Facility.
Contracting landscape maintenance has been done by Public Works since 1979. The most recent contract expired
June 30, 2001. On May 16, 2001, Council approved a six-month extension of the 2000/01 contract with Odyssey
Landscape Company with no monetary increase. The extension afforded the City opportunity to have the contract
coincide with the calendar year and be advantageous to the budget process.
Specifications for this project were approved on November 21, 2001. The City received the following five bids for this
project:

A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE
MAINTENANCE OF LANDSCAPE AREAS
FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2002
WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of
this City Council sealed bids were received and publicly opened on December 14, 2001 at
11:00 a.m. for the Maintenance of Landscape Areas for Calendar Year 2002, described in the
specifications therefore approved by the City Council on November 21, 2001; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report
thereof filed with the City Manager as follows:

WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends award of the contract for the Maintenance
of Landscaped Areas for Calendar Year 2002, be made to the low bidder, Greenline
Landscaping & Maintenance, of Stockton, California in the amount of $103,092.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that the award of the
contract for the Maintenance of Landscaped Areas for Calendar Year 2002, be and the same is
hereby awarded to, the low bidder, Greenline Landscaping & Maintenance, of Stockton,
California in the amount of $103,092.00.
