BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project consists of installing a traffic signal, modifying signing and striping at the Stockton Street/Harney Lane intersection, and widening Stockton Street south of Harney Lane. Plans and specifications for this project were approved on August 15, 2001. The signal project will be coordinated with the adjacent development at the intersection's northeast comer. The City received the following four bids for the project: Bidder Engineering Estimate Collins Electrical Company, Inc. Richard Heaps Electrical Tim Paxin's Excavation Inc. CRI Construction Service Location Bid $166,000 Stockton $165,000 Sacramento $169,666 Elk Grove $173,236 Paradise $196,790 Construction of this project will start in November 2001 and, depending on weather, be completed in 70 working days. FUNDING: The funding for this project is as follows: Requested Appropriation: $182,000 Measure K $101,000 Local Streets Impact Fees $ 81,000 Total Project Estimate: $214,000 Bid Opening Date: October 24, 2001 *The difference between the project estimate and requested appropriation includes the design work previously appropriated.
