HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - November 7, 2001 E-11CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Adopt Resolution Authorizing City Manager to Execute a Professional Services Contract with Blymyer Engineering, of Alameda ($69,110) for the Lodi Unified School District Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Station; and Appropriate $76,000 for Design and Construction Management Services MEETING DATE: November 7, 2001 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a professional services contract in the amount of $69,110 with Blymyer Engineering, of Alameda, for the Lodi Unified School District Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Station; and appropriate an additional $6,890 for contingencies for a total appropriation request of $76,000, as shown below, for design and construction management services. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City of Lodi sponsored a Lodi Unified School District (LUSD) Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) grant application to the San Joaquin Council of Governments for the design and construction of a CNG Station at 820 South Cluff Avenue, and the purchase of fourteen CNG buses. The grant was awarded to the City of Lodi on behalf of LUSD. The City is responsible for project management on this project. The City of Lodi received three proposals for engineering services. LUSD and the City have selected Blymyer Engineering for the design and construction management of the CNG station because of their experience.
