Hamilton, Management Analyst RECOMMENDATION: None. BACKGROUND: The first annual Mardi Paw Parade and Canine Festival will be held on October 6, 2001 from 10:00 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Lodi Lake Youth Area. A $20 registration fee includes admission, parking, T-shirt, Frisbee, Mardi Paw beads, and more. Scheduled events are Skyy Dog USA — featuring a K9 Dream Team, the Police K9 demonstration, Feathered Friends of Lodi, raffle, and Micro Chipping. Canine Festival contestants will vie for recognition for the longest ears, longest tail, shortest tail, most spots, fluffiest coat, best trick, best smile, smallest dog, largest dog, and best likeness to its owner. Prizes will be given for King, Queen, Jester, and Court. This event is a production of the Lodi Animal Shelter Volunteers. All funds raised benefit the animals at the Lodi Animal Shelter.
