MEETING DATE: November 16. 1994 PREPARED BY: Community Development Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council take action to reallocate S150.716.20 from several prior year's completed Block Grant accounts into the project account for the Lodi Boys and Girls Club. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City Council. in April of this year. allocated 5400,000 of the City's 1993-95 CDBG allocation to the Lodi Boys and Girls Club to assist them with the constuction of a new facility at Blakely Park. Since the project's bid opening on October 13. 1994. thc Boys and Girls Club Board has notified City staff that they still have a funding shortage of approximately S250,000. The Board is requesting an additional allocation of 5150,000, which, together with other funds, either from private sources or a bank loan. would enable them to begin construction on the Blakely Park facility, utilizing the current low bidder. Hale Park Improvements. and the Kofu Park Walkway projects are all completed. The Housing Rehabilitation program account has received only two (2) new applications for loans during the past year; therefore, sufficient funds in the account arc unencumbered and available for reallocation. The Eastside Alley Lighting project account has sufficient funds to proceed with planned Phase! implementation; therefore sufficient surplus funds arc available for reallocation.
