BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Earlier this year. the City Council approved the preparation of a Master Pian for bicycle transportation in Lodi. This Plan was prepared in a coordinated effort with the San Joaquin County Regional Bicycle Transportation Master Plan which was recently adopted. As of this writing on October 26, the City Plan is still being reviewed by the Parks and Recreation and Planning commissions. They will be considering the Plan prior to the requested November 16 City Council public hearing. There is a reason for moving the approval process along on a such a tight schedule: both the Measure K Program and the State Bicycle Lane Account Program have December deadlines for grant applications. An approved Plan is the first requirement for these programs. More Information on these grant programs will be provided in the staff report for the hearing. FUNDING: None required at this time.
