At this time, the Public Works Department is evaluating whether or not the CYSA water needs can be met by the City. Public Works staff will conclude their study by the first week in September and will be prepared to make a recommendation at that time. The economic impact to the City of Lodi has the potential to be incredible. Players and their families will need lodging, meals, entertainment, and other goods and services. CYSA officials have stated that other youth soccer complexes have brought in millions of sales tax revenues for cities in a course a few tournaments. CYSA will make a decision within sixty days as to whether or not to pursue the Lodi site. Their decision will be based on whether the City of Lodi can lease the land to CYSA and whether their water needs can be met. They have stated that they would like to be up and operating at the new site by September 1995. FUNDING: None required. i Thomas A. Peterson City Manager Prepared by Janet S.
