CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
AGENDA TITLE: Purchase of Police Department -Issue Firearms and
Related Equipment ($38,094.59)

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution
awarding the purchase of 89 40 -caliber semi-automatic
pistols to LC Action Police Supply of San Jose, Califor-
nia, in the amount of $31,646.18, and 89 holsters to
Professional Police Supply Company of Oakland in the amount of $6,448.41.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On July 6, 1994, the City Council approved specifica-
tions for firearms and holsters, and authorized adver-
tisement for bids for 89 of each.
Bid forms were sent to twelve bidders; seven responded. Bids were opened on
July 27, 1994; the following is a summary of the bids received:

A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AWARDING THE BID FOR PURCHASE OF POLICE DEPARTMENT -ISSUE
FIREARMS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT

WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law
and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and
publicly opened on July 27, 1994 at 11:00 a.m. for the purchase of
eighty-nine (89) Glock Model #23 40 caliber semi-automatic pistols, and
eighty-nine (89) Safariland Model #070 holsters, described in the
specifications therefor approved by the City Council on July 6, 1994; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a
report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows:

WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that award of the bid for the
purchase of eighty-nine (89) Glock Model #23 40 -caliber semi-automatic
pistols be made to LC Action Police Supply of San Jose, California, and
eighty-nine (89) Safariland Model #070 holsters be awarded to
Professional Police Supply Company of Oakland, California, the low
bidders;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that the
award of bid for the purchase of eighty-nine (89) Glock Model #23
40 -caliber semi-automatic pistols be and the same is hereby made to LC
Action Police Supply of San Jose, California, the low bidder, in the
amount of $31,646.18, and eighty-nine (89) Safariland Model #070 holsters
be awarded to Professional Police Supply Company of Oakland, California,
the low bidder, in the amount of $6,448.41.
