Pine Street Lodi, CA 95240 Dear Mr Penninn- You"onstituents have experienced several changes in their cable television rates and program services in the wake of the 1992 Cable Act. In accordance with new rate regulation guidelines developed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), local residents will soon be notified about additional rate adjustments effective July 15. As you may recall, cable rates have been frozen since April, 1993. As we continue our policy of providing municipal and county officials with advance notice of changes in local cable television service, the following information should be helpful to you in answeripg your constituents' questions. Cable customers will receive a clear and concise explanation of any applicable changes in their next monthly bill. Following the FCC's new guidelines on setting cable rates, our customers will see a modest increase in their monthly cable bills. These guidelines take into account such factors as the number of channels we offer, the number of customers we have, and the average income in our city and county communities. Price changes break down as follows: Cable Subscription Packaze Name Old Rate New Rate Basic $ 9.06 $ 9.22 Also, the 3% assessed by the city will be shown as a separate line item in addition to the customer's total bili.
