COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
AGENDA TITLE: Non -Resident Fees - Facility Considerate
MEETING DATE: April 6, 1994
PREPARED BY: Parks and Recreation Director
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt non-resident fees as recommended by the Parks and Recreation
Commission.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: After a meeting with Commissioners WAN and Casslegno, it
was suggested that the following facility charges be adjusted
to consider non-resident charges:
It is recommended that the new picnic fees be made effective January 1995 as most of our rentals
are complete this year. The full commission met and is now forwarding this recommendation for
council action (please see attachments).
Funding: New revenues to the City. Not a considerable amount with the possible exception of
the picnic shelter and pV fee increases, which could argamt to $2,000 + per year.

RESOLVED, that the Lodi City Council does hereby approve the
non-resident fees and charges for the Parks and Recreation Department
facility rentals as shown on Exhibit A attached hereto.

Insurance requirement
The first time a group/organization, private, commercial, etc., uses
our facility, the City's insurance will be required. The next year the
organizers may attempt to use their insurance and be given 30 day
prior to the event to provide the City of Lodi with an acceptable
insurance certificate with required language and limits 93 said
lessee will be required to again use City insurance.

SUBJECT: New POLICY with Regard to the Rental of the Lee Jones and
Kofu.Park Buildings
i As of August 1, 1993, the policy will be: N/R
1. Charging a $40.00 building rental fee (this is no longer $60.00.
an insurance fee).
2. Whenever the Lee Jones or Kofu Park buildings are
reserved for ongoing meetings; i.e., Girls/Boy Scouts,
Camp Fire, dog training groups, etc., these groups must
furnish the department with a copy of their insurance
certificate.
Note: Make certain to explain that the City of Lodi
must be named as additional insured and the
certificate holder must read City of Lodi,
221 W. Pine Street, Lodi, California.

RENTAL FEE EXEMPTIONS:
No rental or cleaning deposit fees will be assessed for the use of the facility by the City of Lodi.
Any activity which does not clearly fall into any of the foregoing classifications will be assigned
to a classification by the Parks and Recreation Department
