Mayor Siegiock Informed the public that a workshop will be held on Wednesday, Aprl 27, 1994 at 7:00 p.m. In the Carnegie Forum for the purpose of receiving public input regarding the proposed business license fee increase. , Mayor Siegiock reminded the public that a workshop b scheduled for Apr9 7, 1994 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. In the Hutchins Street Square Mufti -Purpose Room with Freedman, Tung & Bottomley to discuss the Downtown and Cherokee Lane Revitalization. Mr. Sieglock encouraged the public to attend and provide input. Mayor Siegiock also infonned the public that Stockton Municipal Area Rapid Transit (SMART) wig be conducting a public hearing on Tuesday, April 12.1994 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Lodi Public Library regarding the inter -City bus transportation system in Lodi. Mr. Sieglock encouraged the public to attend and present its suggestions on pick up and drop off locations. Assistant City Manager Glenn informed the public that he will be attending this hearing, and anyone who is unable to attend is welcome to contact him with suggestions, which he will share at the hearing. Council Member Pennino asked that the Dial -A -Ride system be available that evening for those wishing to attend the hearing. Mr. Glenn said he would make those arrangements. Further, Mayor Sieglock informed the public that there will be a public forum on government environmental policies, Friday, April 8, 1994 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Cal -Expo. U.S. Representatives Richard Pombo and John Doolittle, Colorado Attomey General Gale Norton and Nevada Secretary of State Cheryl Lau will be in attendance to answer any questions from the public on such issues as the Endangered Species Act, private property rights, government land issues and water rights. I am pleased to inform you we will be holding an open meeting of the National Policy Forum on Friday, April 8, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Sacramento at CAL - EXPO, 1600 Exposition Boulevard (Gate D). Colorado Attorney General Gale Norton, Co -Chair of The Environment Policy Council, United States Representatives Richard Pomba and John Doolittle of California and Nevada Secretary of State Cheryl Lau, will be among those listening to the views of the participants. Topics for discussion include the Endangered Species Act, private property, water rights and the impact of these issues on jobs and economic growth. I anticipate this will be an afternoon of discussion that will have a far-reaching impact on our efforts to address environmental problems in California and the rest of the United States and I hope you will be able to join us as an audience participant. SMART Bus Service Expanding Countywide Public Hearings To Be Held In April The San Joaquin Regional Transit District (SMART) will beholding a series of public hearings to receive comments regarding SMART's Initial Service Plan for new countywide bus service to begin midyear 1994. SMART will be implementing new intercity service connecting Stockton with Lodi, Manteca, Lathrop and Tracy; new interregional service connecting San Joaquin County with Sacramento, Stanislaus and Bay Area counties; and new general public Dial -A -Ride service for rural areas of the county. The plan is available for review at SMART's administrative office and all public libraries in San Joaquin County. The public hearings will beheld: Tues., April 12 Lodi Public Library Thurs., April 14 6 p.m. to 8 p.m Mon., April 18 Noon to 2 p.m Thurs., April 21 6 p.m. to 8 p.m Lockeford Fire Department 13157 E.
