V W MEMORANDUM, City of Lodi, Public Works oeparhtnt To: City Manager City Council From: Pubic Worcs Director Date: February 10, 1994 Subject: Lodi Jail Painting and Plumbing Retrofit Project At the last Council Meeting, February 2. 1994, the City Council accepted the improvements under this project: however, questioned the change order for an additional lavatory faucet in the amount of $644.32. Let me add that a $600.00 faucet should be questioned. Other Council Members, off the recL-d, questioned the number of change orders on this project. Not knowing what the bit' was going to come in at, we were trying to keep the initial contract to a minimum. However, this contract turned out very similar to a kitchen remodel project where once you get into the project it was dear, in order to do it right, additional items should be added. The final contract price was within $200.00 of the appropriated budgeted amount. A breakdown of costs for the additional lavatory faucet is as follows: Hot and cold vandal -resistant, push-button, sell -dosing lavatory faucet (materials) S 339.00 Installation labor $ 150.00 Plumber's profit S 63.00 General contractors profit and insurance S 92.32 S 644.32 Attached is a copy of the catalogue showing the actual piece of equipment and retail cost. If you have any further questions concerning this item, please contact me or Dennis Callahan at 3-8706. 4Li7o4n ko Director JLRAM • Fowl Q fOpSOUTM 'tEAIMYt1El10MVE CHICA10 FAUCETS m " w&" Ja NAME IIEMl s - i St>rMT1EDAS91A1Mi (, s** A .:.G l ATMM FOR t V 1nsM DIA, NOTE: TRANSFER »ns~ VALVE Oft INTEGRAL DIA.
