AGENDA TITLE: Acceptance of Improvements Under Lodi Avenue Wastewater Pipe Replacement,
200 Feet East of Crescent Avenue to Hutchins Street Contract

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the improvements under the "Lodi Avenue
Wastewater Pipe Replacement, 200 Feet East of Crescent Avenue to
Hutchins Street' contract, and direct the City Engineer to file a Notice of
Completion with the County Recorder's office.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The contract was awarded to Jardin Pipeline, Inc. of Castro Valley
in the amount of $65,025.00. The contract has been completed in
substantial conformance with the plans and specifications
approved by the City Council.
The contract completion date was November 21, 1994, and the actual completion date was
November 11, 1994. The City was waiting for Jardin Pipeline to furnish costs for their additional work
on the project so the contract could be adjusted to reflect those changes. This caused the delay in
accepting the project. The final contract price was $67,312.13. The difference between the contract
amount and the final contract price is mainly due to the installation of two sanitary sewer services which
were not shown on the plans, and the reconstruction of an existing sewer manhole.
